Realities of Time and Place
Mailable Art exhibit.
May 3-31, 2005

A Mail-art Show. What is Mail-art? Mail-art or postal art is artwork that is sent through the postal system for the purposes of exhibition. The artwork is the sender’s gift to the receiver. Mail-art shows have been going on since the beginning of the last century. The artwork must bear the sender’s name and state or country of origin and the cancelled postage. If works get damaged, its okay, as that is part of the process. As long as the postal service will accept the artwork for mailing and delivery, it will be included in the show. There is no chance of rejection. The show’s theme is “Realities of Time and Place.” What does that mean? It means whatever you want it to. It could be personal, political, or just what strikes you. Have fun with it. Artwork can be two or three dimensional, and of any medium; photographs, collages, stamps, stamp art, paintings, sculptures etc. - it’s whatever you like to use to make art. Mail-art is not juried. There is no entry fee. Artwork is not returned. Documentation is given to all who enter.

THE ART OF OUTDOOR LIVING…A SUPERIOR STATE OF MIND!!!

July 29, 2005

The loose definition; any outdoor article to aid in the enjoyment of our superior outdoors such as; outdoor furniture: chair, table, fountain, planter, etc. This event generates funds to support CBAC and our mission; to promote the arts in all phases, to assist, encourage, tutor, expand and develop individuals and groups who have an interest in the arts.

To integrate with our community to enliven, entertain and increase the quality of life in the Chequamegon Bay region. We do all this through our grant programs, professional development seminars, and scholarship program. We are an all volunteer organization.

Call for artists:

We know you all take your art seriously, and this is a chance to be just kind of have fun, and yet support our group. THANKS!

Call for sponsors:
We invite local individuals and businesses to sponsor this event by your financial donation. Your sponsorship assists participating artists with materials needed to create the pieces. Suggested sponsorship donations start at $55.00.

Each artist’s creation displays at local businesses for 30 days prior to the auction to create traffic and excitement at your place of business. Sponsors have their names in our auction booklet as well as on maps showing the locations of each object of art on display.

On Friday, July 29th the Bayfield Pavilion will housed all the works of art and were available for preview. With no admission charge and open to the public we had another record crowd.
